Our story
More than six decades of service, shaped by one enduring belief: human dignity must find expression in action.
Arpana is a community in Madhuban, a village in Karnal district, Haryana, that has spent sixty years turning that belief into institutions: a hospital, women's federations, farmer organisations and schools. It is governed by two registered trusts and works in three states.

What Arpana is
A community that became an institution — without leaving the village.
Arpana's headquarters is not an office in a city. It is Madhuban, where members of the community have lived and worked since the 1960s, and where the hospital, the rural development teams and the trusts' administration all sit within walking distance of the villages they serve.
From Madhuban, the work reached the Ravi valley of Chamba in Himachal Pradesh — a medical centre at Upper Bakrota since the 1970s, then farmer and women's groups — and the resettlement colonies of Delhi, where education support began in 2002.

Enduring values
Compassion. Honesty. Humility. Fearlessness. Service.
Arpana Trust exists to encourage values that it describes as the essence of all faiths: love, compassion, honesty, integrity, magnanimity, humility, forgiveness, fearlessness and service. The programmes are how those values are practised, not a substitute for them.
“All people, whoever they may be and of whichever faith, belong to one universal family.”
