Each date below is taken from Arpana's own published records. The gaps between them are not empty — they are the years of running what had been built.
1963
Arpana Trust is registered as a society in Madhuban, Karnal.
Param Pujya Ma entrusts her legacy of words and deeds to the Trust. Its stated purpose: to encourage the eternal values of love, compassion, honesty, integrity, magnanimity, humility, forgiveness, fearlessness and service.

1980
Arpana Hospital opens as a 13-bed cottage hospital.
Members of Arpana set out to bring quality healthcare to rural people who had no access to affordable modern medicine. The hospital opens on 2 October in Madhuban, where it still stands.

1993
Arpana receives the WHO Sasakawa Health Prize.
Dr Ela Anand accepts the award in recognition of Arpana's innovative rural health initiatives — the hospital's outreach into the surrounding villages.

2000
Intensive self-help group work begins with rural women in Karnal district.
Women who could not feed their children — many with husbands in bonded labour — form the first groups. Savings come first; credit, health action and governance follow.

2002
Education support begins in Molarbund, New Delhi.
In slum resettlement colonies where families have migrated from India's poorest states, Arpana Trust opens an education centre. Today it supports around 1,500 students.

2012
Work begins with persons with disabilities in Haryana.
Arpana starts identifying and organising people hidden by stigma. By 2026 there are 52 organisations of persons with disabilities across 49 villages, with 1,247 members.

2025-26
Cardiology, oncology and an eye bank open on a single day.
On 1 August 2025 the hospital adds a cath lab, an oncology department, an eye bank and a bronchoscopy unit. Across three states Arpana now runs major healthcare, education and community-development programmes.

What was built is still running. That is the legacy.
The 13-bed hospital of 1980 treated 88,483 patients in 2025-26. The groups formed in 2000 now hold ₹84.95 crore of their members' savings. The centre opened in 2002 sent eleven students to Delhi University this year.
